“A PORTRAIT OF AMERICA LEFT BEHIND is a photographic study representing the presence that humanity plays on the landscape, the structures that we build, and leave behind. It is a document of spaces that remain static in our present time”. Recently completing Volume 1 of the project. Photographed over a 3 year time period, it encompasses 20 states, 19,500 miles, 3 months in the field, and 100’s of hours in the darkroom. Brandon lived out of his old Ford pickup truck while in the field, bringing him closer to the road, and his subjects. Most photographs are taken on top of his camper shell, and exposed on 4×5 film. All images here are scans of C-Prints made in Brandon’s home darkroom. The project is displayed in 30”x40” format.
